For World Health Day, the Department of Physical Education and Sports held an online lecture on the topic “Using the theory of “Anatomical stretches” to restore health during sedentary work.”
The lecturer of the event was Olga Bezyazychnaya – Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor, Rehabilitation Doctor. In her report, she introduced the audience to modern scientific approaches to maintaining health during long-term sedentary work.
During the lecture, the basics of the theory of “Anatomical drives” proposed by T. Myers were discussed, which explains the relationship of myofascial chains in the human body and their role in maintaining correct posture and harmonious functioning of the body. Particular attention was paid to the effect of a sedentary lifestyle and long-term computer work on the musculoskeletal system.
The lecture aroused significant enthusiasm among the participants. During the event, many questions were asked about the prevention of muscle tension, back pain and fatigue while working at the computer. The practical part of the lecture was especially useful – the lecturer demonstrated the exercises live and explained how to perform them correctly to reduce muscle tension in the neck, back, arms and legs.
Conducting such lectures is an important component of popularizing a healthy lifestyle and developing a culture of caring for one’s own health among students and university employees.

Plank Challenge KNURE for World Health Day

On World Health Day (April 07), the Department of Physical Education and Sports together with the Sports Club held an online competition on the “Plank Challenge KNURE”.
The competition participants performed an exercise with straight arms, demonstrating strength, endurance and excellent physical fitness.
Our students showed high results, endurance and true sportsmanship.
Winners among girls:
1st place – Sofia Trubchaninova (group VPS-23-1) – 8 min. 48 p.
2nd place – Daria Basarab (gr. KNT-25-3) – 6 min. 30 s.
3rd place – Anna Kutsevich (group PZPI-25-1) – 5 min. 00 s.
Winners among the boys:
1st place – Konstantin Dudnichenko (gr. ESTM-24-1) – 10 min. 25 s.
2nd place – Denis Konyshev (group PZPI-25-1) – 9 min. 08 s.
3rd place – Danil Bukhantsov (group PZPI-24-3) – 7 min. 20 s.
Student sports are an important component of university life. It helps improve the health of young people, builds discipline, perseverance and team spirit. Such sporting events motivate students to maintain physical activity, develop strength and endurance, and also contribute to the formation of a culture of a healthy lifestyle.

KNURE awarded the winners of the online chess tournament during the Open Day

On April 5, 2026, an Open Day was held at the Kharkov National University of Radio Electronics, which became a bright event for future applicants and their parents. As part of the event, a ceremonial award ceremony took place for the winners of an online chess tournament among schoolchildren, organized by the department of physical education and sports of the university.
The winners of the tournament were congratulated and awarded by the director of ESI LBI Vitalina Babenko. Schoolchildren who demonstrated a high level of skill and intellectual preparation received honorary insignia and gifts from KNURE: Elizaveta Sharova, Vladislav Polyakov and Mikhail Kashtanov.
The online tournament has become an important part of the new cooperation between the Department of Physical Education and Sports of KNURE and the Kharkov Regional Chess Federation. This cooperation began in accordance with the Memorandum of Partnership signed on April 1, 2026. The document provides for the development of chess sports, the organization of joint tournaments, the popularization of intellectual sports among young people and the attraction of schoolchildren to participate in the educational and sports life of the university.
Hosting an online chess tournament was the first step in implementing this partnership. Such events not only contribute to the development of student sports, but also open up new opportunities for talented youth. The participation of schoolchildren in such tournaments helps them get to know the university, its educational programs and sports infrastructure better.
KNURE pays great attention to the development of student sports, supporting sports initiatives and creating conditions for a harmonious combination of learning and physical activity. Cooperation with regional sports federations allows us to expand the possibilities of holding competitions, training athletes and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
Involving schoolchildren in university sporting events is an important component of career guidance work. It is such initiatives that help future applicants feel the atmosphere of the university and realize the choice in favor of studying at KNURE.

KNURE and the Kharkov Regional Chess Federation signed a Memorandum of Cooperation

On April 1, 2026, an important event for the development of intellectual and student sports took place at the Kharkov National University of Radio Electronics. University Rector Igor Ruban signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Kharkov Regional Chess Federation, headed by President Dmitry Grin.
The document provides for comprehensive support and development of partnership between the university and the federation, aimed at popularizing chess among students, developing intellectual sports and strengthening the student sports movement. The parties paid special attention to the development of student sports, organizing joint tournaments, educational and training events and creating conditions for the active participation of students in competitions at various levels.
A separate area of cooperation will be career guidance work with students. It is planned to hold chess tournaments, educational and sports events for schoolchildren, which will help popularize the university and attract talented youth to study at KNURE. After the signing of the Memorandum, a meaningful and lengthy conversation took place about further areas of interaction and prospects for joint projects in the field of student sports and intellectual activities.
The meeting was attended by Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work Larisa Karpova, Head of the Department of Physical Education and Sports Natalya Didyuk, as well as Vice-President of the Kharkov Regional Chess Federation Denis Portnov.
The signing of the Memorandum was an important step to strengthen cooperation between the university and the sports community of the region and opens up new opportunities for the development of chess, student sports and support for talented youth.

KNURE student – champion of Ukraine in orienteering

On March 20–22, the Ukrainian Orienteering Championship took place in Uzhgorod, which brought together the strongest athletes from all regions of the country. According to the results of the competition, Irina Klimenyuk, a student of the KIUKI-24-2 group of the Kharkov National University of Radio Electronics, demonstrated a high level of training and sportsmanship. Irina won two first places, confirming her status as one of the most promising athletes in her sport. A successful performance allowed her to fulfill the standard of the Master of Sports of Ukraine, which is a significant achievement both for the athlete herself and for the university. In addition, based on the results of the championship, Irina Klimenyuk was selected to join the junior and adult national teams of Ukraine, having the opportunity to represent the state in the international arena. The university staff congratulates the athlete on her significant achievements, wishes her new victories, successful starts and further conquest of sporting peaks.

KNURE expands cooperation in the field of student sports

On March 17, 2026, the rector of the Kharkov National University of Radio Electronics, Igor Ruban, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between the university and the Department of Mass Sports in the Kharkov Region of the State Institution “All-Ukrainian Center for Physical Health of the Population”
“Agency of Pupil, Student and Mass Sports of Ukraine”, head – Artem Nazarov.
The purpose of the Memorandum is to establish partnerships and develop long-term cooperation in the field of university sports, as well as the implementation of joint initiatives for the implementation and development of the “Side-by-Side” project. All-Ukrainian student leagues in the Kharkov region.
The rector of the university, Igor Viktorovich Ruban, consistently supports the development of physical culture and sports at the university, promotes the creation of conditions for increasing the sports activity of student youth, popularizing a healthy lifestyle and forming the sports image of KNURE at the all-Ukrainian level.
In preparation for participation in the All-Ukrainian student leagues “Side-by-Side,” the Department of Physical Education and Sports of KNURE announced five teams to participate, which is one of the highest indicators among higher education institutions in the city. The university will be represented by teams in: football, basketball (boys), cheerleading, volleyball (girls and boys).
This level of student involvement in sports life indicates the systematic work of the university to develop mass and student sports, support sports initiatives and form competitive teams.
The signing of the Memorandum was an important step to strengthen cooperation between educational and sports institutions, opening up new opportunities for the development of student sports in the region and increasing the prestige of the university movement.

Defense of dissertations and competition for scientific degrees by university staff

On March 16, at the Kharkov State Academy of Physical Culture, a ceremonial presentation of diplomas to employees of our university who successfully defended their dissertations and received scientific degrees in the field of physical education and sports took place.
We congratulate the acting head of the Department of Physical Education and Sports, Natalya Didyuk, on successfully defending her dissertation and obtaining the academic degree of Candidate of Sciences in physical education and sports, as well as Associate Professor of the Department of Physical Education and Sports, Andrey Litvinenko, on defending her dissertation and obtaining the academic degree of Doctor of Sciences in physical education and sports.
We wish our respected colleagues further scientific achievements, creative inspiration, professional development and new significant achievements for the benefit of the development of education and sports.

KNURE student – winner of the Ukrainian Taekwondo Championship

Student of the Kharkov National University of Radio Electronics Bogdan Khomenko (group AKTAKIT-25-1) took part in the Ukrainian Taekwondo Championship, which took place on March 6–8, 2026 in the city of Lviv.
Based on the results of the competition, the athlete demonstrated a high level of preparation and achievements:
5th place in the Ukrainian Championship among adults;
1st place in the Ukrainian Team Championship.
We congratulate Bogdan on his worthy performance at the national level and wish him new sporting achievements, victories and academic success!

KNURE student – winner of the open judo championship

Student of the Kharkov National University of Radio Electronics Vitaly Kucherenko (group KITm-25-1) successfully performed at the Open Judo Championship of the Donetsk region. The athlete demonstrated a high level of training, willpower and sportsmanship, winning 1st place in the “adults” category in the weight category up to 100 kg. We congratulate Vitaly on his significant sporting achievement and wish him new victories, high results and further professional growth.

KNURE student – winner of competitions in MMA, grappling and horting

Student of the Kharkov National University of Radio Electronics Denis Kovalevsky (group PZPI-24-4) successfully performed in a number of sports competitions, demonstrating a high level of training and sportsmanship.
On February 13–14, MMA and grappling competitions took place in the city of Kharkov, where the athlete received: 2nd place in grappling, 3rd place in MMA in the weight category up to 70 kg among men.
In addition, on February 27 – March 1, Denis took part in the Ukrainian Horting Championship in the “duel” section, where he won 3rd place in the weight category up to 70 kg among men.
We congratulate the athlete on his significant achievements and wish him new victories, athletic growth and high results at all-Ukrainian and international competitions!
