Ukrainian Women’s Rapid and Blitz Chess Championship 2021
Congratulations to Maria Berdnik on the Ukrainian Women’s Championship in 2021. A 2nd year student of KNURE group PZPI-20-5 took 1st place in the 2021 Ukrainian Rapid Chess Championship.

From 18 to 21 October in the city of Dnipro took place the championship of Ukraine in rapid and blitz chess in 2021.
Competitions were held in the city of Dnipro, with time control: 10 minutes + 5 seconds for each pass, starting from the first. The championship was attended by top chess players of Ukraine, prize-winners of European championships, Olympic world champions.
Male FIDE Master, Women’s International Master and Master of Sports of Ukraine, 18-year-old Maria Berdnik, having scored 7 points out of 9 possible, shared the first place and by 5 indicators (the result of a personal meeting) won the first place from the more experienced multiple prize-winner of international Olympiads, Inna Gaponenko. Congratulations to Maria and wish you not to stop on your way to new heights!

– nine-time champion of Ukraine in the classic game in different age categories and fifteen-time among all types (classic, fast, lightning);
– bronze medalist of the World Rapid Chess Championship among girls under 16 years old.
– Olympic vice-champion of the world on the fifth board as part of the national team of Ukraine U16.
– World champion among schoolchildren as part of the Ukrainian national team.
– Prize-winner of the World Championship among girls under 20 (the most prestigious youth competition);
– the only girl with the title of FIDE male master in Ukraine;
– the best junior of Ukraine under 20;
– Vice-champion of the online Olympiad 2021 as part of the national team of Ukraine;
– reserve of the women’s national Olympic team of Ukraine.
She graduated from high school with a gold medal, was awarded the prize “Best student of 2019” and “Young man of 2018 (nomination athletes)”.
