On 23-28.01.2024, the Ukrainian Junior Indoor Archery Championship was held in Lviv. A student of our university Sofia Postelnyak (ITSHI-22-4 group) took the 1st place in the national team of the Kharkiv region. We are proud of the new achievement of our student and wish her further victories both in sports and in studies!

Student of the Kharkov National University of Radio Electronics Vera Popruga (group MTTE-20-1) became a grandmaster in checkers.

According to the order of the Ministry of Youth and Sports No. 86 dated January 4, 2024, Vera Popruga was awarded the sports title “Master of Sports of Ukraine of International Class” – grandmaster in checkers. The athlete fulfilled the standard at the European Championship in draughts-100 among women held in the Netherlands (3rd place in the rapid game tournament).

On January 4, at the age of 85, Stanislav Tanyansky, former head of the department of physical education and sports, passed away after a serious illness.

He worked at the department since 1969 as a senior lecturer, and from 1973 to 2019 as the head of the department.

On December 23, 2023, the Kharkov region championship in classic and equipment bench press among all ages was held in Kharkov. 8 athletes took part from our sports club “Radiotechnik KNURE”, under the guidance of the coach – MSMKU teacher Natalia Didyuk. And they all brought medals of various denominations to our club’s collection.

Among the young participants was Alexandra Zaikina, who improved her personal result in the classic bench press and took 1st place in her weight category. Among the juniors under 23 years old, Tatyana Slivka (VPVSS-21-5) performed, who in the weight category up to 52 kg easily handled the weight of 35 kg and also took 1st place, and in the equipment division the champion of these competitions was Alena Didyuk, in the weight category 57 kg with a bench press result of 85 kg.

From December 1 to 3, the World Taekwondo Cup competitions were held in Thessaloniki (Greece), in which a first-year student of our University, Vladislava Varvashevich, took part in the Ukrainian national team. In a tense struggle with the best taekwondo athletes in the world, Vladislava won silver and bronze medals in different types of the competitive program. We congratulate Vladislava on her successful performance and wish her further competitive success!

On November 23-27, 2023, the Ukrainian Cup in classical powerlifting was held in Kolomyia, Ivano-Frankivsk region. A student of our university, Alexander Shulepa (KIUKI-21-5), showing excellent results in squats – 220 kg, bench press – 120 kg, deadlift – 230 kg and triathlon total – 570 kg, for the first time fulfilled the standard of a Master of Sports of Ukraine in classical powerlifting in the weight category up to 74 kg at these prestigious competitions. Evgeniy Fursal (PZPI-22-4) 11.11.2023 competed at the Estonian Classic Bench Press Championship among youth in the city of Kilingi-Nõmme in the weight category up to 83 kg. He showed his best result in the bench press – 110 kg, and took 5th place. Since Evgeniy is not a citizen of Estonia, he believed that he would not be allowed to participate in the competition taking into account the result, and he decided not to reduce the extra 2 kg of his own weight, although in a smaller category he had every chance of getting into the top three. But this is not the last competition. Therefore, we congratulate Evgeniy on his good performance at the national championship and look forward to new achievements in powerlifting!

On October 28-29, 2023, the European Draughts-100 Championship among adults was held in the city of Beilen (Netherlands). Master of Sports of Ukraine in checkers, Vera Popruga (MTTE-20-1), in a persistent struggle with experienced opponents, won a bronze medal and became a national grandmaster in checkers. This is an extraordinary incident that occurred for the second time in the history of our university and the first time that our student among adult women received such a high rank in this sport.

On October 23-31, 2023, the Ukrainian Classical Powerlifting Championship among children and youth sports school students was held in Kolomyia, Ivano-Frankivsk region. A student of our university, one of the strongest athletes in the strength sports section (coach N. Didyuk), candidate for master of sports of Ukraine in powerlifting, Alexander Shulepa (KIUKI-21-5), showing excellent results in squats – 212.5 kg, in the bench press – 117.5 kg, deadlift – 225 kg and triathlon total – 555 kg, won gold and became champion in the weight category up to 74 kg at these competitions.

06-10.09.2023 in Ravenna (Italy) the European Dragon Boat Rowing Championship was held.

Competitions took place in several disciplines.

In August 2023, the European Classic Bench Press Championship among juniors and junior women was held in the city of Merignac (France). Our university student Vera Popruga (MTTE-20-1) took second place and became the silver medalist of these prestigious competitions.

From August 25 to 27 in the Hungarian city of Gyor, the competitions of the SKIF World Karate Championship took place, in which, as part of the Ukrainian national team, a first-year student of the Faculty of Computer Engineering and Management Oleksandr Dudka took part. In tense fights with experienced opponents, Alexander won silver medals in individual and team competitions. We congratulate Alexander on a successful performance and wish him further success!
